  2. Greg.

New site looks good! BTW I like when you put the commercials on the show, (the old ones) especially the ones for service stations/automotive. to bad none of them are still around,

  3. Greg – Can you help me? I would like to get a decent copy of “Earth Abides” but I didn’t find it when I just checked Radio Spirits. I’m not trying to get you into trouble but do you know from where you got this and from where I may get it? Like so many other listeners, this is one of my all-time favorite shows and i’d love to have it. We still have some trouble with our radio transmissions so recording it from the radio is out of the question (though I did do that last year – there are some silent pauses during the show’s air times and that ruins it for me). If you can’t tell me from where yout got EA, I’ll understand; I’ll just keep looking – and I’ll send the defective one back.

    1. I did get it from the Radio Spirits box set with Ray Bradbury picking his favorite science fiction OTR shows.

Not sure if it is still in stock.

      1. Thank you, Greg! With my luck, it probably isn’t in stock but I can write to them (and I shall) to see if they’ll reissue it. You’re the best .. I hope you know that.
Oh, by the way — I loved “True Detective” but I could only listen to it once — that episode really frightened me and not in the “good” way that Arch Obelor (I can’t spell today) usually does. This is NOT a criticism – just a fact. Please continue airing TD – I love the show and even the episode. I just have to shore myself up when it air.

  4. I like the new site; it just takes a bit of getting used to. As long as I can get the weekly schedule, I don’t care if it’s in hieroglyphics!
I notice that, during the week of 3/21/10, you’re airing 2 of my favorites – “The Damned Don’t Cry” and “Return of the Native.” I know TDDC is to honor Joan Crawford whose birthday anniversary is 3/23. She’s one of my all-time favorite actresses.
I have CDs of both shows and yet I love listening to them on my radio. Go figure.
Only 5 months until we get to hear “Earth Abides.” I ordered a CD of this … and it’s defective. I’m SO upset about this. I should have gotten it from Radio Spirits but I couldn’t resist the $5 price tag. Sadly, I got what I paid for … not much.
No “Our Miss Brooks” this upcoming week? I don’t believe it’s on this week (3/14/10) either. I need my “Brooks fix.”

  5. Hi, Greg,

Great new blog and site. I’m a fan of the excel scheds and customize them to fit my work week.

Upward and upward, getting better and better.

    1. I’m supposed to learn Excel so I can have more to offer my job search. What better way to learn it than through Greg Bell putting the sked on Excel. But then, I think Greg is wonderful anyway.

  6. Hi Lana,

If you’d like to use a photo (Gravatar), go to http://en.gravatar.com/site/signup. Enter the email address you used when you registered on our site. Click submit and then follow the instructions. This will work directly with any WordPress site (like ours).

  7. Wow, you guys really are excel gurus. I work my schedule the old fashioned way. I print it and get out the ol’ yellow highlighter for my faves. Maybe one of these days, I will dabble into excel.

Can you tell me how to change my picture on the right side of my comments? I am still trying to get used to this new site. Not complaining. I am liking it.

  8. We’ll get the Excel option back up there. Seems like it is a nice convenience for many of you.

  9. Warning Excel Tech-no babble follows.

I have an Excel sheet with macros (VB) that I use as a receiver for the current schedule that allows me to:

    1. Copy the day columns for next week into what’s left of this week.
    2. Search for my “favs” and color code them
    3. Change the time to “Left Coast” only and rearrange the hours into actual “Left Coast” time rows.
    4. Manually remove shows from the day as time passes

  10. Iana,

It’s kind of an inside thing for Excel users. All I mean by it is I would copy Greg’s excel schedule version into a template and automatically search his page for predetermined shows I want to hear. My template would then list the shows and the time slots so I could schedule them (in my head) during my drives. This way I would not forget to go to the channel when I wa listening to a ball game or a race…I stopped doing it a short time ago mostly out of a lack of time. Now I take what I get when I get in the car.

  11. In regards to Michael’s first message. You lost me too, on your excel comment.

There are quite a few times when people make a response and do not explain what they are referring to. I read these messages and think ” WHAT???”.

It would be nice if people could give us more info as to what they are talking about.
    No offense Mike.

I am hoping to see more Richard Diamond shows in the upcoming schedules. I really like his quick whit. Love the new web site too, looks more modern.

I just have one question, when we set up our sign in, why do we have to provide our e-mail address?

  12. Excel has a very nice find feature, I can also add a VB script that searches for my favorite shows….and hightlights them in blue….I did it a few times for kicks but I like to be surprised when I get in the car at 6:30am and 5pm for 75 minutes of commuting each way….

  13. What an improvement! I’m glad the shows are from the past, but the web site isn’t

ps The schedules will still be available in Excel won’t they?

  14. Much better. I am glad we can live in a spam free world now.

Are there any forums or ways we can talk or email each other?

Nice job Greg. I’ll see what I can do about some St. Louis/Pittsburgh tickets

  15. Darn it! I wanted to be the first to comment on the new site! You beat me to it Andrew!

Great site Greg! I love the look and feel of it. This is the site I use for my blog, wordpress, and they are great at filtering out spam comments. I think in the eight months I have had my blog open and running, only one spam comment has slipped out. The other ones go into a folder until I delete them all.

    Keep up the good work!
