Hey gang, cruise update – folks are starting tor reserve their cabins, and even though it’s a big ship, our allotment is limited so if ya wanna join me next August, ya need to hold a cabin ASAP. The inaugural event back in June (NYC – Bermuda) was a great success and next summer’s cruise departing out of Florida with stops in The Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Another busy week on channel; we have multiple films adapted for radio productions – Screen Director’s Playhouse “Music For Millions” (June Allyson birthday tribute); Lux Radio Theater’s “In Name Only” (Carole Lombard birthday tribute) & Lux Radio Theater’s “A Star Is Born” (Janet Gaynor birthday tribute).

We have a tremendous new to the channel episode of the CBS Radio Workshop known as “Lovers, Villains & Fools”to mark the birthday of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar & Tony Award winner, Helen Hayes.

Additional birthday tributes for actress Jean Vander Pyl (Wilma on the Flintstones, Margaret on Father Knows Best); Andy Devine (Wild Bill Hickok, The Jack Benny Program); Paul Dubov (The Adventures of Frank Race); Sam Buffington (Luke Slaughter Of Tombstone); Leon Belasco (The Man Called X); composer Walter Schumann (Dragnet, Dr. Kildare); comedy writer John Tackaberry (The Jack Benny Program) and announcer Fred Collins (X Minus One, The Chase, The Falcon).

We also mark the 60th anniversary of the series debut of the Frank Sinatra adventure series Rocky Fortune (launched on NBC on October 6th, 1953).
