Nov. 10th to Nov. 16th 2013 RadioClassics Show Schedules and Highlights

If you haven’t grabbed it yet, the new weekly schedule can be found by clicking to see Full Story & Pictures and then the following link; ShowSchedules

First of all to answer some recent (and frequent) email questions;

The 2nd Annual Radio Spirits Sea Cruise is scheduled for August 10th – 17th, 2014 departing Port Canaveral, Florida on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of The Seas. It may be many months off, but ya gotta reserve your cabins ASAP. If interesting in joining me on the cruise (and possibly on stage for the many radio re-creations) then visit the following website or give Larry a call at 800-269-2127. A video from the inaugural cruise can also be viewed here June 2013 Cruise

Also many of you have asked about getting the CD collection of my favorite radio shows. The best way to find Radio Classics As Selected By Greg Bell is to click on the link at the top of my website

Okay this week’s headliner; a couple of Veteran’s Day two-hour specials. The first one features a couple Norman Corwin productions (America At War from Feb. 14th, 1942; Fourteen August from Aug. 14th, 1945) was well as Fred MacMurray in the Korean War themed Suspense episode – “Flight Of The Bumblebee” and a U.S. Revolutionary War story on American Portraits.

The other Veteran’s Day special features Pat O’Brien in Lux Radio Theater’s version of his 1943 WWII picture – ” The Navy Comes Through” plus the return of The CBS Radio Workshop’s episodes – “Harmonica Solo” and “Air Raid”

We also has some great birthday tributes for Dick Powell (Richard Diamond, Rogue’s Gallery); Jim Jordan (Fibber McGee & Molly) Veronica Lake (Lux’s So Proudly We Hail); cartoon voice legend Daws Butler (Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, etc); multiple Oscar nominee Claude Rains and author Robert Louis Stevenson. Plus centennial celebrations for actor Alexander Scourby (Dimension X) and director Helen Mack (Adventures of The Saint, Richard Diamond Private Detective).

  1. Did you say there was a website that had older traditional xmas music? if you did could you let me know. thanks and by the way I really appreciate the work you do on this channel you do such a great job keeping a balance of all genres.

  2. Another great radio personality has passed away this week. We lost Shirley Mitchell.
    Leila on the Great Gildersleeve.

  3. Thanks for last weeks schedule. I loved it. I listened day and night. I played it on my computer while viewing my email and playing games.
    I think a marathon of Phil Harris is a great idea. I would like to hear the sow where he sings DON’T SMILE AT A CROCKADILE.
    I have always love to hear him sing, especially as Baloo in Jungle book.
