This week features a number of birthday tributes none bigger than Kirk Douglas’ 97th! The multiple Oscar nominee and acting patriarch is still with us and is the subject of a two-hour special opening with a new to the channel this week episode of the Academy Award Theater “Guest In The House”. Douglas is also featured on The Screen Director’s Playhouse and two from Suspense..

We also are celebrating Frank Sinatra, Edward G. Robinson, Dorothy Lamour, Van Heflin, Lillian Randolph (Birdie on The Great Gildersleeve), Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Jay Jostyn (Mr. District Attorney), Eddie Firestone Jr. (Sonny on Let George Do It), author Dalton Trumbo (Johnny Got His Gun) and musical director Alexander Courage (Broadway Is My Beat, composer of Star Trek original TV theme).

Holiday fans will enjoy the sprinkling of Christmas themed shows this week as we build toward a wall to wall Christmas week of shows airing this year from Sunday the 22nd through Saturday the 28th.
