Okay among the birthdays being celebrating on the channel this week; Marsha Hunt’s 97th (Suspense, The Bickersons); Rita Hayworth; Robert Hall (The Green Hornet); Berry Kroeger (Murder At Midnight, Inner Sanctum Mysteries); Linda Darnell; Benita Hume (The Halls of Ivy); Lillian Gish, Cornell Wilde; Jan Miner (The Chase, Boston Blackie, Casey Crime Photographer) and Martin Blaine'(FBI In Peace & War, American Portraits.) And a Man Of Steel Marathon as a centennial celebration for Superman co-creator, Jerry Siegel.

We also have a Columbus Day special (Life with Luigi, Stan Freberg) and celebrate the 239th anniversary of the creation of the US Navy (Lux Radio Theater’s “The Navy Comes Through” plus episodes from navy veterans, Jack Benny & Dennis Day.)

We mark the series debut anniversaries for Lux Radio Theater (80th!); Mr. Keen Tracer of Lost Persons (77th); Michael Shayne Detective (70th) and Let George Do It (68th).

  1. I really enjoy the Dr. Kildare series. Compared with some of the hospital shows on TV currently, the stories seem gentler and more humane. Not all of the Dr. Kildare shows are on at times that are suitable for me in this time zone, but I am grateful that I have an opportunity to hear those that I can. Thanks very much. David
