Well Halloween week is rapidly approaching (this year it will run Sunday Oct. 26th through Saturday Nov. 1st) so to get in the proper scary mood, I have a few Halloween themed shows airing this week. They include offerings from Lights Out, Dark Fantasy, Inner Sanctum Mysteries, The Sealed Book as well as some  Halloween humor from Our Miss Brooks, Baby Snooks; The Great Gildersleeve and Abbott & Costello.

We celebrate the following radio debut anniversaries: The Fred Allen Show and Sherlock Holmes (celebrated with a two-hour four episode special featuring four different acting tandems as Holmes & Watson.)

Our birthday tributes this week are heading up by one for Oscar winner Joan Fontaine (Screen Director’s Playhouse “Ivy” and “The Affairs Of Susan”) and others include Barney Phillips’  (Dragnet, Escape); Bela Lugosi (Suspense, Abbott & Costello), Hy Averback (The Whistler, Escape), producer Harry Alan Towers (The Black Museum, The Third Man) and actress Teri Keane’s 89th (X Minus One.)

Greg.
