This week marks the return of Major League Baseball so on the channel we are presenting multiple baseball themed comedies and dramas including Lux Radio Theater’s “Pride Of The Yankees”, The Mutual Radio Theater’s “The Baseball Announcer”, Destination Freedom’s “Ballad Of Satchel Paige” The Family Theater’s “The Scout” plus various Hall Of Famers visiting variety shows. We have Dizzy Dean and Babe Ruth on The Bob Hope Show, Bob Feller on The Jack Benny Program and, of course, Abbott & Costello’s “Who’s On First” will be featured.

The birthday celebrations include both radio superstars and Oscar winning performers: Jack Webb (Dragnet, Pat Novak For Hire, Jeff Regan Investigator, The Whistler); Bette Davis (Screen Director’s Playhouse “Jezebel”, Screen Guild Theater’s “A Woman’s Face”, The Cavalcade Of America); Gregory Peck (Academy Award Theater’s “Keys Of The Kingdom”); Spencer Tracy (Lux Radio Theater’s “Arrowsmith”) and Walter Huston (Lux Radio Theater’s “The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre”).

Additional birthday specials for John Brown (Damon Runyon Theater, The Life Of Riley, A Date With Judy), Bea Benaderet (Lights Out, The Family Theater, Fibber McGee & Molly), and last, but certainly not least, Doris Day’s 9rd (The Bob Hope Show).

We also mark the following series debut anniversaries: Mr. District Attorney (78th); Nero Wolfe (74th); This Is Your FBI (72nd) and Dimension X (67th).
