Okay on to the highlights:

Welcome to October! As you’d expect this month will conclude with wall to wall Halloween episodes but until then the usual fare will be featured.

This week we celebrate the following series anniversaries: Dennis Day Show (71st); Barrie Craig, Confidential Investigator (66th); and Rocky Fortune (64th).

Headlining the birthday specials is a centennial celebration for motion picture actress June Allyson. The wife of Richard Diamond actor Dick Powell will star in Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “Music For Millions” plus guest on The Charlie McCarthy Show. Speaking of lovely movie actresses, we also celebrate Carole Lombard (Lux Radio’s In Name Only) and Janet Gaynor (Lux Radio’s A Star Is Born).

We’ll present a two hour block of The Abbott and Costello Show to celebrate the birthday of straight man, Bud Abbott.

We also celebrate the birthdays of Groucho Marx (You Bet Your Life); Damon Runyon; Barton Yarborough (Dragnet); Andy Devine (Wild Bill Hickok, Jack Benny Program); Everett Sloane (Inner Sanctum Mysteries, CBS Radio Workshop) plus announcers – Tony Marvin (Casey, Crime Photographer); Fred Collins (Dimension X, X-Minus One, The Chase, The Falcon) and Don Rickles (not THAT Don Rickles but rather the announcer for The Whisperer, Night Beat, etc).
