It’s the 16th year of Christmas In July, a week long celebration cooling things during the heat of the summer with classic Christmas themed radio offerings.
Over the past few years, this week has coincided with the annual Radio Spirits Sponsored Sea Cruise, but this year we are sailing to Alaska in August, so that allows me to return as the host of this popular week long tradition. Special thanks though to all the wonderful Sirius XM on-air personalities who have filled in for more in the past. Perhaps they’ll be back next year.
This week features some new to the channel Christmas episodes from both classic series as well as the more modern offerings of Sherlock Holmes from Jim French Productions of Seattle.
There are radio versions of “It’s A Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed; “A Miracle On 34th Street”; the 1940 romantic motion picture “Christmas In July” starring Dick Powell; “Remember The Night” with Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray; “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens …
Holiday episodes from both comedies and dramas including by not limited to: The Jack Benny Program; Fibber McGee & Molly; My Favorite Husband; Burns & Allen; Harris & Faye, The Bing Crosby Show; Gunsmoke; Suspense; The Six Shooter; Tales Of The Texas Rangers; Yours Truly Johnny Dollar….
