First of all a reminder, there are only a few more days left to hold a cabin (at the best rate) for the 7th Annual Radio Spirits Sea Cruise. We recently freed up some cabins including Balcony and Ocean View, but on March 6th the rates go up and availability is more limited. So if you are interested in joining in July for a cruise out of the New York City area (Cape Liberty, NJ) with stops in Maine and Canada, give Larry a call at 800-269-2127. It’s our new annual Mardi Gras special as originally suggested by channel fan Donald from New Orleans.  The two-hour block features four performers who served as King Bacchus for the annual Krewe Of Bacchus Parade. And this year we have episodes starring Raymond Burr (Bacchus II); Phil Harris (Bacchus IV); Bob Hope (Bacchus V) and the now 102 year old Kirk Douglas (Bacchus XVI).

Birthday celebrations for the now 83 year old Dean Stockwell (The Family Theater’s “Hans Brinker & The Silver Skates”); movie leading man John Garfield (Screen Director’s Playhouse version of “Body and Soul”, Suspense, The Cavalcade Of America); Lou Costello; Virginia Gregg (Family Theater, The Whistler, Richard Diamond); Lee Allman (Lenore Case on The Green Hornet) and movie actress Claire Trevor (Lux’s “Key Largo”, Big Town plus two from Suspense).

We also mark the birthdays of Minerva Pious (Mrs. Nussbaum on The Fred Allen Show); Oscar and Tony Award Winner Rex Harrison (Academy Award Theater, Duffy’s Tavern, Sports Newsreel); writer David Friedkin (Bold Venture, Broadway Is My Beat, Crime Classics); Will Geer (Grandpa Walton on Television heard in episodes of The Columbia Workshop and Gangbusters) and character actor Edgar Barrier (Escape, Lights Out).

And one more thing; remember most of the U.S. observes Daylight Saving Time and the Spring Forward occurs in the wee hours on Sunday the 10th. So one less hour of RadioClassics as we’ll jump from 2am ET to 3am ET.
