Highlights this week include a Man Of Steel Marathon with all 8 parts of “Candy Meyers Big Story” a Superman storyline from August 1946. We also mark the radio debut anniversary of the following series; Screen Guild Theater (81st); Inner Sanctum Mysteries (79th); The Saint (75th); Screen Director’s Playhouse (71st) plus we celebrate Red Skelton’s national radio debut anniversary with his first appearance on the variety series Avalon Time (January 7th, 1939) as well as a flub filled rehearsal recording of The Red Skelton Show (October 25th, 1942).

We have birthday tributes for motion picture stars Loretta Young (Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “The Perfect Marriage”) and Paul Henreid (Suspense, guest on Burns & Allen) as well as for Father Patrick Peyton (The creator of The Family Theater); Lon Clark (Crime Club, The Haunting Hour); Danny Thomas (Brother Amos on The Bickersons) and Pulitzer Prize winning author Carl Sandburg (featured on The Cavalcade Of America).
