This week includes a Man Of Steel Marathon with all 6 parts of “Happyland Amusement Park” a Superman storyline from July 1940. We also mark the radio debut anniversary of the following series; Screen Guild Theatre’s 82nd (Champagne For Caesar, Too Many Husbands); Screen Director’s Playhouse‘s 72nd (Lucky Jordan, Casbah); Inner Sanctum Mysteries‘s 80th plus the 76th anniversary of The Adventures Of The Saint. We also celebrate the national radio debut anniversaries of both Bob Hope (86th) and Red Skelton (82nd).
Heading up the birthday tributes are motion picture stars Loretta Young (Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “The Perfect Marriage”, Burns & Allen); Jane Wyman (Suspense, Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “A Kiss In The Dark”, Martin & Lewis); Paul Henreid (Suspense, guest on Burns & Allen) and Butterfly McQueen (Jack Benny Program).
