It’s quite the famous folk’s birthday week as we celebrate movie star leading men, radio and television legends, singer/actors, famous detective novel authors and more.
We’ll have two different birthday blocks for Jimmy Stewart as he stars as The Six Shooter, as well as re-creates for radio, his work in the following films; “Winchester 73”, “Call Northside 777” and “Magic Town. He also heads up the powerful Suspense productions “Consequence” and “Mission Completed”.
We also mark the birthdays of the following folks among others: future Perry Mason star Raymond Burr (Fort Laramie, Pat Novak For Hire); Maureen O’Sullivan (Chase & Sanborn Hour, Suspense); Margaret Sullavan (Screen Guild Theatre’s “The Shop Around The Corner”); Dennis Day (with two from A Day In The Life Of Dennis Day plus a couple from the Jack Benny Program) and Robert Montgomery (Suspense’s “The Black Curtain” and Screen Director’s “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”).
Also birthday blocks for the following: Arthur Conan Doyle (multiple Sherlock Holmes productions plus Escape’s version his story “The Ring Of Thoth”); Herbert Marshall (The Man Called X, Suspense); Joel Kupperman (The Quiz Kids); plus two fellas who spent time as the orchestra leader on The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, Artie Shaw and Meredith Willson.
We also mark the series debut anniversaries for Information Please (83rd) and Counterspy (79th).
