Hey folks, hope you enjoyed the 19th Annual Christmas In July Week.

This week’s highlights feature some belated birthday blocks plus regularly scheduled ones.

Both Gracie Allen and Harold Peary get two specialty blocks. Gracie will logically be featured in multiple Burns & Allen episodes plus make visits to both The Bob Hope Show and The Jack Benny Program.

Harold Peary stars in both The Great Gildersleeve and Honest Harold, has a leading role on Lux Radio Theatre, and is heard as a cast member on Fibber McGee & Molly.

Other birthday blocks (some also belated do to Christmas In July Week) are for the following: Raymond Edward Johnson (Inner Sanctum Mysteries, Crime Club); William Powell (Suspense, Lux Radio Theatre); Laird Cregar (Suspense); Stacy Harris (This Is Your FBI, Suspense, Escape); Jackson Beck (Philo Vance); and Barbra Fuller, still with us and 96 (Night Beat, Philip Marlowe).

Plus for Rudy Vallee; Keenan Wynn (Suspense); Barbara Eiler (The Life Of Riley, Dennis Day Show); Alice Frost (Mr. & Mrs. North); Karl Swenson (The Chase, The Whistler) and baseball legend Leo Durocher (guest on Fred Allen Show, Jack Benny Program).

Plus birthday blocks for a number of writers: Blake Edwards (Richard Diamond, The Line-Up); John Meston (Gunsmoke, Escape); Brett Halliday (Michael Shayne); Raymond Chandler (Philip Marlowe) and Aldous Huxley (Brave New World as produced for The CBS Radio Workshop).

We also mark the 73rd anniversary of the radio debut of the comedy series My Favorite Husband starring Lucille Ball and Richard Denning.
