On to the weekly highlights:

This week includes a Man Of Steel Marathon with all 6 parts of “Happyland Amusement Park” a Superman storyline from July 1940. We also mark the radio debut anniversary of the following series; Screen Guild Theatre’s 83rd (Champagne For Caesar, Too Many Husbands);  Screen Director’s Playhouse‘s 73rd (Lucky Jordan, Casbah); Inner Sanctum Mysteries‘s 81st plus the 77th anniversary of The Adventures Of The Saint.

We also celebrate the national radio debut anniversaries of both Bob Hope (87th) and Red Skelton (83rd).

Heading up the birthday tributes are motion picture stars Loretta Young (Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “The Perfect Marriage”, Burns & Allen); Ray Milland (Meet Mr. McNutley, Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “Alias Nick Beal”, “The Big Clock”, “The Uninvited”); Jane Wyman (Suspense, Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “A Kiss In The Dark”, Martin & Lewis); and Butterfly McQueen (Jack Benny Program).

Additional birthday blocks for Father Patrick Peyton (The creator of The Family Theater); Danny Thomas (Brother Amos on The Bickersons); Barbara Rush (The Family Theatre); Norman Field (Inspector Danton in Mystery Is My Hobby); and Pulitzer Prize winning author Carl Sandburg (featured on The Cavalcade Of America).
