A busy week for series debut anniversaries led by Suspense’s 80th! It will feature the earlier audition recording “The Lodger” as well as some top requested ones including episodes starring Oscar nominee Gene Lockhart and Oscar winner Susan Hayward.

We also celebrate Ellery Queen’s 83rd (two episodes, one starring Sydney Smith and the other with Lawrence Dobkin); Philip Marlowe’s 75th (Three episodes starring Van Heflin, then William Conrad and finally Gerald Mohr); Murder By Expert’s 73rd and Crime Classics’s 69th.

Birthday celebrations: Bob Bailey (Yours, Truly Johnny Dollar); Basil Rathbone (Sherlock Holmes); Clayton “Bud” Collyer (Adventures of Superman); Dorothy McGuire (Screen Director’s “Cluny Brown”, Suspense); Ben Morris (Dark Fantasy, Pat Novak For Hire); Martin Gabel (Norman Corwin’s United Nations Radio “Could Be”, Molle Mystery Theatre); Joe Forte (Michael Shayne, Life With Luigi); Ona Munson (Big Town); Carleton Hobbs (Sherlock Holmes); and sci-fi writer Murray Leinster (Dimension X, X-Minus One).

And we also have a couple Father’s Day Specials to close out the week.

As is an annual tradition; my father, Dan Bell, once again takes over a two-hour block full of his favorites. This year he offers up episodes of The Six Shooter, Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel and Tales Of The Texas Rangers.

We also have Father’s Day comedies from Jack Benny, Red Skelton, The Life of Riley and Father Knows Best.
